Your AI Voice Agent Can Now Call Any Country — From a Number That Belongs There

What changed
The Playground's test-call box used to dial Indian numbers only. It now takes any country: pick it from a searchable list of every country, with its flag and dialling code, then type or paste the number. A number pasted with its code — +44 7700 900123, 0044… — or with a leading zero is read correctly for the country you chose.
The calls API has always taken a full international number in its to field. What was missing was a sensible number to call from.
Call from a number in the same country
We rent Indian numbers. To call customers in another country, call them from a number in that country, which you can import from Twilio or Telnyx — both sell numbers in many countries. Your agent can hold that number alongside an Indian one and use each for its own customers. Choose the number per call in the Playground or with the API's from field.
A call from a local number is billed by your carrier at its local rate, on your carrier account, and shows the person a number from their own country rather than an international one.
Allow the country on your carrier account first
- Telnyx calls only the countries your outbound voice profile allows — the United States and Canada on a new account. Add others in the Telnyx portal. Telnyx may ask you to verify your account before it allows some countries.
- Twilio has its own country permissions for outbound calls, set in the Twilio console.
A call to a country your carrier account does not allow is refused by the carrier and shows as failed here, with the carrier's reason.
What it costs
Our per-minute rate is the same wherever the call goes — from ₹2 a minute for standard voices, in 30-second pulses. Your carrier bills its own account for the call at its rate for that country, and the number costs nothing from us.
Languages
The agent speaks the language you set for it, wherever the person is. A US customer gets English from the same agent that speaks Hindi to a customer in Delhi, if you set its languages that way.
Get started
Import a number from Twilio or Telnyx in the country you want to call, lend it to your agent under Outbound, and place a test call from the Playground — choosing the country first.
