TPS (Telephone Preference Service)
The TPS is the UK register of people who opted out of unsolicited live sales and marketing calls. The Corporate TPS does the same for business numbers.
Definition
The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is the UK's official opt-out register for unsolicited live sales and marketing calls. Under PECR, a business must not make a live marketing call to a number registered with the TPS unless that person has told the business they want its calls. The Corporate TPS (CTPS) does the same for business numbers. The TPS is a marketing rule: it does not stop service calls, such as an appointment reminder a customer asked for.
Who needs to check the TPS
Any business making live marketing calls to UK numbers. Callers usually screen their lists against the TPS and CTPS before a campaign and keep their own suppression list of people who have objected.
How it fits with ThinnestAI
ThinnestAI keeps a do-not-contact list you maintain, and an outbound campaign skips everyone on it. ThinnestAI does not screen numbers against the TPS or CTPS for you, so screen your list before you upload it. This is general information, not legal advice.
